Joe continues to lead all heading into the weekend. He is looking to get a win and his sheriff title back.
Houston continues to lead the BB with Grott close behind.

2009 AT&T Natl Update

Maybe I got a little too excited there. After a couple boges, a double and a triple it now appears my hopes for a hatrek are fading. Joe Wilson rises to the top with Watson WD’s leaving his alternage (Kim) to lead his squad.
Houston owns the BB.

HATREK - an owner has not been on fire like this since the likes of Killingsworth back in the ‘06/’07 seasons or Martin’s back-2-back quarters in ‘07. I simply can not miss lately thats all there is to it.

Can Kel repeat his AT&T National Championship? Or will the Kill make it three?

Simply put, I am on fire. The golf gods couldn’t be more on my side lately. Brian Davis withdraws which sealed the deal as Toms, Mahan and Perry finish in the top 4. This is my 2nd lifetime Travelers Championship, 2nd victory in a row and 3rd victory this year. abd it launches me to into territory I have NEVER been before - that being 1st place. Yes gentlemen, it has taken 9 LONG years but I can finally say it. I am the new Sheriff in town! WTF ???

Can Hayward repeat his Traveler’s Championship? The way he has played this year. NO.

Can Wilson repeat his 4th Quarter Championship Ring? The way he has played this year. NO, again.

These two proud BDGL rivals are only 11 points from each other, each sitting in 22nd and 23rd place. Any side bets on who finishes ahead ? I’ll put $20 on Wilson!!

Thank god there are not 19 holes in golf.

US Open Update | 3rd Quarter Update | YTD Update | Miles Major Update

Monday Madness!!

Updated 12:30 pm Sunday

US Open Update | 3rd Quarter Update | YTD Update | Miles Major Update

It starting to fall apart. I have lost 2 of the 4 leads I cherished - But the two I want the most are still in tact, barely. US Open results show me on top with Mr Major right on my heels. 3rd Quarter shows me on top with Houston right behind.

Another update shows The Zellman taking over as YTD leader, aka Sheriff. BB shows Stormin Normin coming from behind as Ogilvy takes a big dump this afternoon which just may cost me my sweep.

Miles Major has Risser, Long and Fred Miles in the money. Risser is the only one to have all five in, but Long is only 19 back as three of his guys are currently in 8th.

Hayward I will kill you if I get nothing out of this weekend. Seriously. Hey Weir, can we please NOT have 4 boges in 5 holes.

Updated 11:19 am Saturday

US Open Update | 3rd Quarter Update | YTD Update | Miles Major Update

Things are still looking good for me. However I’m a little worried about Houston in the rear view mirror. He is about 2 strokes from taking both the Open and the quarter from me. Houston, don’t even think of it. and I am serious. I left my phone at home so I am unable to harass you. Then there is always Mr Major himself, lurking in 3rd place. We are the only 3 to have all golfers make it to the weekend, so far.

Miles Major has Risser in 1st with the only to have all 5 golfers make it through the cut. Battle for 2nd heated!!

Updated 6:56 pm Friday

Somebody pinch me. Check out these results (if all were to end NOW) where yours truly would stand:

US Open: 1st

3rd Quarter: 1st

YTD: 4th within 100 points

Now THAT is what a solid Major will get you.

But look who is hot on my heals. Mr Major himself, Jeff Horen only 48 points back, looking to add an unprecedented 6th major to his shelf.

Im Also winning BB. With both my entries.

Long continues to lead the Miles Major with Risser and Rick Miles placing 2nd and 3rd heading into Saturday. - mistake! just found that I didn’t give Risser 100 for his Love error. so I will fix that tomorrow. Risser and Miles still are 2nd and 3rd, just swapped now…..

Good luck everyone - lets all pray it stays the same.

Updated 11:08 am Friday

Holy Moses I couldn’t ask for a better update!!

Long leads the Miles Majors .

Updated 10:33 am Thursday

US Open is under way but I think has stalled due to weather.

Miles Majors updated as well.

It’s a big week gentlemen! Can Jeff repeat his championship from last year and add another Major to his league leading 5 that he holds already? That’s 3 better than the next guy! That’s right 5 of Jeff’s 7 victories are Majors. He has recently been quoted as saying “I’m king of all majors, everybody else is below me”. Can we allow this ?

Or will Houton or West finally break through and capture their first? They have been dubbed the best BDGL’ers not to have won a major.

Don’t forget to get in on the side action this week with the Bonus Boards and Mile’s Majors! This just adds to the excitement of watching golf on TV. Can you beat that?? No, you really can’t.

St Jude Classic

Posted by The Commish
June 11th, 2009

Updated 7:51 pm Sunday 6/14

Johnny Rogers wins the St Jude in one of the closest matches ever! It came down to the fact that Rogers had all 4 in the top 15, while Miles pick of Estes, who shot a 3 over Sunday, slips to 23rd overall costing him the bonus. Johnny gets the bonus, lifting his score to 3 points total for the win. This is Rogers’ fourth lifetime victory - one each year he has been a member. This victory lifts Rogers to 23rd overall, only 855 points back with 3 majors to go. In other words, you are right where you wanna be???

Look who’s back in town for his 3rd stint this year! Sheriff Joe! Rogers and Horen both have bad weeks opening the door for Joe to return.

Risser is still leading the 3rd Quarter heading into the last week. Zellman and Mansell are both within 100 points. With a major coming up, that’s not a big margin at all!

BB goes to me, my 3rd this year!

P2W - Kelly Horen takes the 2nd ever P2W game with his 2nd round pick of Brian Gay. Kelly earns a cool 220 in doing so. He is having a year to remember!

Next P2W 3.09 draft will be held on June 23. Make sure you get in on the action this time!!

Golfer counts are updated! Make sure you check before you submit your US Open Lineup. And be sure to get in on the Miles Major - Us Open this week too!

Updated 12:29 pm Saturday 6/13

Johnny Rogers explodes into first place with all four in the top ten. The 20 point bonus has put him at -22, leaving Rick Miles wondering what he needs to do!

BB currently belongs to me with Miles and Norman close behind. We are the only 3 that have all guys making the cut.

P2W. Kelly has Gay and is on fire. But Houston has Allenby, who Hayward was going to take but passed on for Glover?? But Hayward’s 1st round pick in Toms is in 4th, just behind Allenby! This is going to be good!!

Updated 8:03 am Friday 6/12

It’s a Memphis showdown with Zellman still leading the way. Home town hero, “Memphis Mansell”, who was favored this week even though he’s a rookie, is currently in 7th just under 100 back. However his pick of Stenson, who stands at a solid 7 over, is looking to spoil his home town debut.

Kelly is comin out today as Gay runs away with the P2W.

Updated 9:26 pm Thursday 6/11

Zellman still leading with myself, Rogers, Long and Miles all posting double digits.

I lead the BB. That’s the way it should be.

2nd Quarter Champ Kel Horen is feeling Gay this week in the P2W.

Beware of the frickin Zellman!!! Again!! holy moly this owner is having one hell of a year as all four of his guys are currently in the top 15!

Memorial Time!

June 3rd, 2009

Updated 7:16 pm Sunday 6/7

Beware of the frickin Zellman!!! Holy cow this owner takes his FOURTH victory of the season. Can he possibly eclipse The Kill’s record of 6 in one season? I was sure that record was set in stone, but the Zellman is starting to change that. Nice going Big Z. Very impressive!! This victory lifts you from 10th to 4th overall, only 183 back with 3 majors to go. In other words, you are right where you wanna be.

Sheriff Rogers, although only leading by 7 over Kelly, is still the sheriff. The pressure was on him to hold 1st for longer than a week, and he did it! Nice going Tim.

3rd Quarter leader, Risser, is still hanging in there now only 16 ahead of Brown and 53 over 2nd Quarter Champ Kel.

On his 6th attempt, Mr. Houston finally breaks through into the winner’s bracket and claims his 1st BB victory. I am now including BB stats on the Tally Board!

P2W - champ Wayne Lee had Davis Love in a tie for 1st late Sunday, but ends up falling short due to Tiger’s unbelievable home stretch. Wayne tasted his 2nd P2W titles in as many attempts for a glimpse there. That would have been upsetting.

We are not going to have pickup/drops during this P2W - we will discuss this for the next P2W (3.09). So disregard my request for your vote. Rules will not be changed during play. This is to avoid controversy.

Good luck everybody!

Updated 11:16 am Sunday 6/7

Zellman looking to wrap things up as Casey becomes his best friend.

Houston takes the BB. I can already assure you of that!

and P2W Champ, Wayne Lee, seeks his 2nd title with Love in contention. We will never hear the end of it if that happens.

Updated 1:17 pm Friday 6/5

Beware of the Zellman! I have said it before and I will say it again. Zellman takes the lead from Long as only a handful of owners have all four in.

Houston surges to the lead in the BB with Risser within striking distance. They are the only two to have all guys in.

Just when you thought you couldn’t beat the drama of last weeks P2W, here comes another showdown as the Horen brothers, Wayne, Miles and Houston all have guys that could pull it off. Oh my.

Updated Friday 12:47 pm 6/5

Long still leading as 3 guys are within 15 points.

I take lead in BB by only 2 over Risser while Houston implodes…..

Updated Friday 9:21am 6/5

Long, looking for his 3rd title this year, is happy about the results so far. You know it’s gonna be an interesting weekend when the most popular pick withdraws!

BB shows Houston in the lead in a tight contest all around. Grott’s pick of Ames costs him. He needed two alternates this week.

P2W has Mr. Daniels looking good again with Marino in contention!

Updated Thursday 2:39 pm 6/4

Mr Long has not allowed last Sunday’s choke impact his performance this week as he leads all heading into Friday. His pick of Donald is leading his team this week.

BB shows myself on top barely with Risser close behind.

P2W, maybe I should have permitted guys to be picked up and dropped this week! After updating lineups I see I am the only owner with no players this week. Ouch. Closest in contention is Rick Miles with Purdy in 3rd place.

It’s Memorial time! Will Folkman repeat? Wait, he can’t. He quit too….

Check your Golfer Counts!

Crowne Town at the Colonial

Posted by The Commish

Updated 4:41 pm Sunday 5/31

Brown takes the Crowne! In a great showdown, the winner ends up Brown. He holds his ground while Houston fades. Congrats Brown on your 2nd career victory. 6 more and you will earn color. At the rate you are going, that will be in 2015. This win lifts you from 17th to 13th overall, according to the sliding page.

Rick Miles takes the BB with a come from behind victory. Nice going Rick!

We have a new sheriff in town! It’s been 11 weeks since Tim Rogers held the reigns. But can he hold onto them this time? Last stint was very short (only one week) so we shall see if this owner can grip down. Sherrif Joe’s worst finish of the year, placing in 26th, results in him packing his bags and heading to 3rd place overall while Kelly, who has been on fire lately, jumps into 2nd overall and is only 27 points back! Although Joe still holds 1st in power rankings.

3rd Quarter Leader Risser is barely holding on. Especially with the likes of Brown (3Q08 Ring Holder) only 25 back and Kelly (2Q09 Ring Holder) only 39 back. Can Risser choke like Clark did today?

Speaking of Clark and the P2W…… ouch. He chokes on the 18th hole leaving his putt, which was dead on, 4 inches short! WHAT!!? Are you kidding me? At least that’s what Long was thinking. Talk about bad luck - 2 of Long’s 3 picks withdraw while Clark makes him scream. Sweet. and how about Marino, selected by outsider Daniels. Has an unbelievable Saturday to join Clark and Stricker in the playoff. Talk about an exciting P2W tourny this week - I couldn’t have written it any better. But thanks to Stricker the P2W will roll into next week!

Money Page is updated. If you need password please email me.

Golfer Counts to be updated by tomorrow!!

Good luck everybody! It’s Memorial time! Will Folkman repeat? Wait, he can’t. He quit too….

Updated 3:25 pm Saturday 5/30

Brown & Houston back in a tie for the lead heading into Sunday! This may cause some smack talk in the office on Monday for these two proud owners.

Tate in control of the BB.

Long looking to close the 2nd Edition of P2W early as Clark takes a two stroke lead into Sunday. We have seen this before, however, and I am sure he will choke.

Updated 12:55 pm Saturday 5/30

Jenkins on top just like that!

Tate and Grott within 5 on the BB.

P2W shows Marino, taken by Daniels, moving up. Could the P2W end with another non-league member winning it. WTF ???

Updated 12:01 pm Saturday 5/30

Brown and Houston are in a battle at the Colonial as Saturday wraps up. This after Houston puts a rare Cink Magnifico last week. Nice bounce back Robert!

BB belongs to Tate, just barely though with all of us getting all 5 of our starters in!

P2W 2.09 could end this week as Mr Long, who had 2 of his 3 picks withdraw on him, is winning with Clark. This could be legendary!

Byron Nelson

Posted by The Commish
May 18th, 2009

Updated 11:00 AM Monday 5/25

2nd Quarter Champion, Kel Horen, blows the field away with a neg 24 score, earning a 5 point bonus for having all four in the top 20, while three of his guys were in the top 4. This win earns Kelly his color on the Tally Board. He also moves up to 3rd overall, and 2nd for the quarter. Nice going Kelly!

After a rocky Byron Nelson, Sheriff Joe manages to hold his ground. Now with Tim Rogers and Kelly easily within striking distance.

BB goes to me. Just goes to show you that persistence does pay off.

Pick-It-2-Win-It Edition 2.09 draft starts tomorrow! Be sure to register as I will be picking the draft order tonight.

Updated 10:20 AM Friday 5/22

Kel Horen rolling with his picks of Sabbatini and Davis in a tie for first. Tate rules the BB for now.

Updated 5:06 PM Thursday 5/21

McMillan continues to lead all and Siders is leading the BB in a dogfight as Thursday comes to a close.

Updated 1:26 PM Thursday 5/21

It’s McMillan time! Only owner to have all four past the cut. Brutal!

This just may be my favorite week on tour. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s the weather, maybe it’s Byron - but something about this week touches the inner golf in me.

It could be that I have won the Byron before. But can West make it three Byron’s? or Will Voytek repeat his championship? Wait, that won’t happen due to him quitting the league this year. So there will be a new champ this week guarenteed!

Again, golfer counts will be updated by end of day. Good luck everybody!!

Valero Time

Posted by The Commish
May 14th, 2009

Updated 6:42 pm Sunday 5/17

Combine Ames choking on the 17th hole with Hayward’s victory and you get a bad weekend of golf viewing. It was as if the golf god’s were messing with me. Hayward captures his 9th lifetime victory with his come from behind win at Valero. Nice going Dave!

3rd Quarter leader, Houston, takes a 35 point lead over Risser into the Byron Nelson Classic. Can Houston, who some have dubbed “the best owner not to have a ring” hold on to his 3rd Quarter magic?

Sheriff Joe extends his lead over Rogers with another sub-100 performance this quarter.

Pick-It-2-Win-It comes to an end after 4 weeks of fun with Wayne Lee capturing the first ever title. The last thing I wanted was a non-league member to win this and I figured with Wayne, I wouldn’t need to worry. I mean, the guy has a 35 handicap, and the only golfer’s he knew of on the PGA tour were Tiger and Phil. He proved me wrong. His pick of Zach Johnson (taken 5th overall in the draft) was golden. He actually had a chance a couple weeks ago but Zach choked away a two stroke lead heading into Sunday. It almost happened again today but Zach held off disappointment by winning in a playoff. His other two picks of Toms and Fisher were golden as well with each of them placing high in the standings when they played. Congrats Wayne! Hope you enjoyed robbing us.

The P2W turned out to be a great success with each week presenting heartache and suspense. The next P2W draft will be held on May 26th (day after Memorial day). Send me a message if you want in on this one!

Golfer Counts to be updated by tomorrow afternoon.

Updated 7:42 pm Saturday 5/16

It’s a battle as Brown, Houston, Grott, Martin and Hayward are all within 11 points of each other heading into Sunday!

Wayne gets a unbelievable performance from Zach Johnson today as he looks to end the P2W game tomorrow.

Prescott owns the BB.

Updated 9:00 pm Friday 5/15

Rick Miles leads all heading into Saturday with 3 guys tied for 2nd only 7 points behind him. Incredibly only 6 golfers were cut this week and I am proud to say I have one of them. I must have missed the article on Justin Leonard which just goes to show you why I am consistently in the middle of the pack.

I don’t see Goydos holding onto that lead for much longer and instead see Leonard taking his fourth leaving Mr. Tate a happy man.

Prescott finally has something to feel good about as he leads the BB.

Updated 1:00 pm Thursday 5/14

The Valero is new to the BDGL and Tim Rogers is looking to add it to his resume. He already has a victory in each of the quarters this year, so this seems to be right on pace for him.

Grott loves the BB.

and the P2W is brutal this week!! Time to think about your picks next draft as four owners are left blank (Hayward, Kel, Risser & Long) and hoping it rolls over to next week. Meanwhile, Stephen Ames is looking to wrap things up for Team Siders this weekend.

Players Championship!

Posted by The Commish
May 7th, 2009

Updated Sunday 5/10 9:00 pm

Houston wins, Houston wins! He went into this week with the longest winless streak in the league (Prescott now owns the honor) and leaves with a Players Championship after posting a score of only 9 points. He earns his 8th lifetime victory which gives him some color on the tally board. Congrats Robert!

Look who’s back in office - Sheriff Joe !! After taking a 2 week vacation Mr. Wilson resumes his roll as our leader after Kamolz’s picks of Gay and Weekley decide to withdraw, leaving Kamolz clinging to 3rd place.

Risser takes the BB and the 50 with it.

P2W game has another nail biter for some owners with Poulter actually having the lead at one point today only to choke it away, as expected.

Updated Sunday 5/10 1:00 pm

Houston has three guys tied for first right now. I don’t think I have ever seen that before. A record is in the making….

Risser owns BB.

P2W - can Poulter pull it for Miles?? or will Kel end up with a Woody by days end?? Oh the drama!!

Updated Saturday 5/9 12:24 pm

Houston, no problem!

Risser loves the BB.

Rick Miles in position to experience what Risser, Norman & Lee went through the past two weeks.

Updated Friday 5/8 10:56 am

Jeff Horen, who is used to leading major tournys, is up by 17 over Houston.

I lead the BB -

Gay drops out saving Miles and Castelein.

and a new feature on the scorecard shows your golfers combined score relative to par. Check out the rookie Pinson at 14 over while veteran Jeff Horen leads all at 17 under.

Updated 8:20 pm Thursday 5/7

Quail Hollow

Posted by The Commish
April 27th, 2009

Updated 7:41 pm Sunday 5/3

Tim wins! His pick of O’hair pays off with his 2nd victory of the season. Congrats Tim on a nice win.

P2W will roll over to the Players Championship next week as Glover and Zach Johnson could not get it done for their respective owners, Risser and Lee. I am yet to experience what it is like to be one stroke from $280 bucks but I am sure it’s gut wrenching…. :)

Norman takes the BB and the $40 that came with it - a nice consolation prize to last week.

Kel Horen wins his 1st ever Quarterly Ring. This was Kel’s third time in two years of leading a quarter heading into the last week and this time he makes sure he doesn’t implode. It was close though even at one point with Kel being down by over 100. But he battles back and takes the Ring. Nice going Kel.

Sheriff Iron Mike continues to lead all going into the 2nd half of the season. He has placed 3rd place overall the past two years. Can he hold on to take the championship? I like his odds.

Lastly, can’t go without giving notice to Jenkin’s Quatro Magnifico he bellied up this week. Getting all 4 to miss is almost as difficult, if not more so, as getting all four in. Sweet one Vegas J!

Updated 1:36 pm Sunday 5/3

Tim and Jeff in a battle to the finish! Tim has taken over the lead by only 8!

Kelly holding off Kamolz, now leading the 2nd Quarter by 40! Will this finally be the one?

Norman clinches BB, pretty much.

Wayne chokes as predicted with Zach Johnson at 3 over after 9. Closest contender is Glover just one back! Risser should be tuned in.

Updated 4:20 pm Saturday 5/2

Jeff Horen takes the lead at Quail Hollow. Using his P2W lineup and adding in an Ogilvy is paying off. Jeff and Tim Rogers are the only to get all four starters in. Tough week!

Meanwhile his bro Kel takes a 17 point 2nd Quarter lead into Sunday hoping it holds for his first ever Quarterly Ring.

BB shows Prescott’s pick of Stricker actually working out.

Non BDGLer, Wayne Lee, is looking to show up all of us in the P2W game as Zach Johnson carries a two stroke lead into Sunday. And don’t forget about his other two picks in Fisher and Toms, only 4 strokes behind as well. However, with Tiger lurking, is Wayne on the highway to Choke City to visit Prescott? or will Risser, the proud owner of Lucas Glover, who is only 2 strokes behind, pull out a miracle? There is a very good chance the 1st ever P2W game will end tomorrow afternoon. The drama!

Updated 4:52 pm Friday 5/1

Just when you think luck has turned in favor of Norman is when Rod Pampling decided to tee it up today, dropping a fat plus 8 on Prescott’s hopes. Combine that with Cabrera’s plus 5 on the back nine and what was once Prescott’s ring to give away, has now been given away. Kelly back in the lead, by a dingy 1 point, over Kamolz for the battle of the 2nd Quarter Ring. Now it looks like it is coming down to Poulter & Marino vs Phil & Toms, the only difference between Kel’s and Iron Mike’s lineup. I’m going with Phil & Toms…. so that means Poulter & Marino will win it for Kamolz. Sorry Kel.

Leader of the Quail Hollow continues to be Tim Rogers.

Although Norman’s luck is sour, he does lead the BB, by only a few over Miles.

Updated 12:42 pm Friday 5/1

Tim Rogers leads all after Na decides to call it quits yesterday at the Quail Hollow. Nothing like your golfer shooting 6 over early and deciding to withdraw! (if you have Phil as your alternate)

Bonus Board shows Risser on top.

Kamolz and Kelly both take Sabbs and Ogilvy which may just open the door for Stormin Norman’s first ever Ring. He currently leads the 2nd Quarter and that certainly would justify his past weekend.

And look who is on top of the P2W game, again. Wayne Lee has Zach Johnson who just may put up a fight against Tiger.

Last year it was the Wachovia in what turned out to be a great tournament as Rick Miles won by only 5 over Hayward and Kamolz! Let’s hope this week sees the same because there is a Quarterly Ring riding on it!

P2W Update shows the following guys (in red) playing in the tourny this week:

Zurich in New Orleans

Posted by The Commish
April 21st, 2009

Updated 3:11 pm Sunday 4/26

Beware of the Zellman! Seems like I have said that quite a few times this year. Zellman swoops in and takes the Zurich Classic, in what turned out to be a true classic! and yes, I was right. It’s his 3rd victory of the year. Very impressive.

Heartbreak Hotel as Norman squanders his glorious Sunday away. He had the BDGL and the P2W, 3 holes to play - looking to take in $275 - but ends up paying $30 for his weekend (that’s a $305 difference), pretty much taking home a handful of nothing, after Howell and Merrick completely buckle under the pressure. Merrick’s colorful scorecard enabled Prescott to continue one of the longest winless streaks in BDGL history. Howell’s last 5 holes caused Prescott to switch to whiskey.

Grott takes the BB. Nice going getting all 5 in!

We have a new sheriff in town!! Kamolz takes over 1st place YTD while Sheriff Joe drops to 2nd, only 28 behind.

2nd Quarter leader Kelly has a blowup week posting 300+, opening the door for Kamolz who is only 8 points behind from defending his 2Q ring from last year! West defended his 1st Quarter Ring - can Kamolz do the same?? This won’t be the 1st time Kel takes a lead into the last week of a quarter. Can he hold on this time? Oh the pressure!

Updated 1:39 pm Sunday 4/26

Norman and Zellman in a battle with Kamolz close behind.

Grott leading the BB in a runaway!

Norman looking to make short work of the P2W game as Howell III has a two stroke lead with 6 to go. Come on Kelly. Come on Wi!!!

Updated 2:20 pm Friday 4/24

I think it just may be Stormin Normin’s week. He has the broom out and will most likely hurt his head trying to get through the front door on his way to get more beer this afternoon.

Updated 8:46 am Friday 4/24

Normin pulling away big with all four in the top 20. He also is leading the BB. His P2W picks in Hoffman and Howell are having a very nice time in New Orleans which can only mean one thing for Prescott: lots of beer and pretzels today with no sun.

But not as happy as Wayne (the only non BDGL member to participate in the P2W) as Toms is leading the Zurich. Wayne wants to end the P2W early and show everybody exactly how it’s done.

Updated 3:36 pm Thursday 4/23

Stormin Normin still on top in the BDGL. Grott takes over BB. Toms looking good for Wayne in the P2W game.

Stormin Normin taking out the broom early as he leads both the BDGL and the BB and is only 1 stroke from leading the Pick It 2 Win It with Howell at 4 under. Nice start Prescott!

Hayward’s pick of Merrick in the Pick It 2 Win It game just may pay off. I have already received 4 calls from him this morning. It’s funny what makes guys tick. Hayward is a happy man. Let’s hope Merrick chokes!!

Updated 9:33 am Thursday 4/23

Game on in New Orleans! Ames sucks I’d rather have Verplank!

Can Tate repeat his magic of a year ago ? He was the only one to take Romero who lead him to his 1st ever BDGL victory in New Orleans.

Long runs away with it after only leading by one point yesterday. He wins his 2nd victory of the year (Northern Trust) and also pulled him out of the basement leaving the Anchor duties to McMillan. Nice going Paul!

Special Bonus goes out to Grott who was the only owner to pick Brian Gay this week, earning him -50 points.

Bonus Board goes to Risser despite his two cut to Siders’ one!

2nd quarter leader Kelly Horen has a nice outing this week placing 4th. He increases his 2nd quarter lead to 134 over Fred Miles.

Sheriff Joe continues to hold down the fort, now for the fourth week in a row, leading by 93 over Tim Rogers and 111 over Tate.

Golfer Counts to be updated by tomorrow afternoon!!

Updated 10:27 am Saturday 4/18

Only one point separates Long & Norman while Risser takes over the BB despite his two cut to my one. The change to picking 5 golfers makes a difference early!

Masters

Updated 6:11 pm Sunday 4/12

I know one family who celebrated Easter today. Rookie Fred Miles wins his first Major in his first attempt! He also put a cherry on top of that victory by taking the Miles Masters games as well. Fred’s victory lifts him from 23rd to 8th overall. Congrats Fred!

Rick Miles wins the BB with a come from behind surge at the very end. Nice going Rick.

Kelly Horen takes over 2nd quarter lead with Dave Wilson dropping to 14th. Sheriff Joe stands his ground - our leader for the third consecutive week.

Pages are updated except Golfer Counts (which I am working on automating) but will be updated by tomorrow afternoon. I included Miles Majors participants who are not in the BDGL League on the Money page.

Don’t forget to get in on the Pick It 2 Win It game - draft to start on 4/20 ending on 4/22. We start with the Zurich Classic. Email me to confirm your entry. Click here for more info!

Happy Easter everybody!

Updated 5:21 pm Saturday 4/11

Saturday scores are final with Fred separating himself from the field. I think we can congratulate him now. oh, and Hayward is still in last place.

BB has a battle brewing with Siders and Tate, or should I say Casey and Rose fighting it out for the honors.

MM has Flynn, Fred and Siders in a battle as well with Flynn leading by only 4 over Fred and 23 over Siders.

Good luck to everybody that is in it. Especially me.

Updated 12:21 pm Saturday 4/11

Fred continues to lead BDGL. Tate has the BB in a 4 way tie. Flynn, Fred and Siders in the money at the MM.

By the way - check out the new BDGL Game #4. Register now before 4/20 draft!

Updated 10:10 am Saturday 4/11

It’s amazing what 24 hours will do. Johnny plummets to 16th place and his bro rises to 14th!

Fred Miles should be enjoying his Easter weekend as he leads the BDGL and holds 2nd in the Miles Masters. Fred is the only owner to get all 6 of his starters over the cut which almost assures him of his 1st Major, as a rookie too. However Mansell and Jeff (who holds 5 majors) are close behind. Mansell’s pick of Perry and Jeff’s 5 starters in the top 20 should keep the heat on Fred through the weekend.

BB shows a tie with Siders and Tate. Alternates break ties so it looks like I’m the unlucky one with Casey crapping his pants right now.

Flynn leads all in the MM with Fred and Siders in the money.

YTD update has Joe Wilson still on top! He weathered the storm yesterday.

2nd Quarter update shows Kel Horen taking command as Dave Wilson did not weather the storm yesterday falling all the way to 15th place. Ouch.

But the real story, and I am hoping to see some comments on this, is Hayward’s performance this week. All that hard work and studying has come back to bite him. He is anchoring the Masters. Now I understand why he didn’t pony up that 5 bucks.

Updated 10:05 am Friday 4/10

BRUTAL!!

Bookend Bros!! Johnny Rogers is dominating. While his brother is anchoring. If things keep up as they are with Chad Campbell pretty much screwing everybody but Rogers (Johnny), he will own first place overall and for the quarter, by a big margin!

BB shows a 4 way tie with the Kill on top due to a better alternate in Karlsson.

Miles Masters update has Fred on top with Bates and Rick close behind.

Updated 8:35 pm Thursday 4/9

Thursday scores are final with Roger’s headin into the clubhouse with a 34 point lead over Castelein. Although the cut rules for the Masters is keeping Goosen and Els in it, that isn’t keeping our 2nd quarter leader, Wilson, from anchoring all heading into Friday. Jenkins is holding the BB down, just barely over Tate and Siders. Miles Masters shows Kevin Risser leading with Fred and Bates close behind. Cheap ass Hayward couldn’t pony up 5 bucks to participate in the Miles’ Masters. Very disappointing. Friday will be a good one. Good luck everybody.

Updated 1:35 pm Thursday 4/9

Johnny Roger’s takes over lead while 2nd Quarter Leader Wilson is hurting in last place.

Jenkins still on top with the BB! Which by the way, (for those in the Miles-Masters), is open to non-BDGL members if interested. This week’s BB is worth $100. Winner take all. The pot depends on the number of participants. If the number gets too high (say over 10) I may add 2nd, 3rd place prize - or create new BB’s. Depends on the interest. But for now it is one BB, winner take all. If you want in on a BB in the following weeks to come, email me. See contact.

Bates, Fred and Siders on top in the Miles Masters!

Updated 11:35 am Thursday 4/9

Game On! Amateur Jordan picks Katayama? Early results show Castelein leading all with Pinson close behind.

Bonus Board shows Vegas Jenks leading early.

Miles Masters has Fred Miles, who also took Katayama, on top.

3 guys yet to tee off so PLENTY of golf left while Goosen, Els and Leonard are struggling.

Can Kamolz repeat? Can Jeff add to his league leading 5th major?

Remember - must take 6 golfers for majors and all points are doubled!!

Golfer Counts are updated!

Also - Miles Majors are back this year by popular demand! See Miles Major Rules Page for more detail!

Hope to see you on all the boards this week! It should be a good one.

Shell Houston

Posted by The Commish

Updated 10:45 am Monday 4/6

It’s a Siders’ Sweep. I have been waiting 71 tournaments to say that. The streak is over! and by the way, it is the 4th time this year I have picked the winner of the PGA tournament at hand. NBD. Really, NO BIG DEAL.

The longest active winless streak now belongs to Mr Houston at 63 tourny’s! Prescott Norman is at 62.

2nd quarter results show Hayward dropping like a brick all the way to 6th leaving the door wide open for his arch rival Mr. Wilson to take command. See update here

Look who steps up after my Friday comment - Mr Joe “Sheriff” Wilson stays in command after the dust settles. Two weeks in a row - he holds tough under the pressure. The Wilson’s control the BDGL right now….. oh my.

Updated 11:08 am Friday 4/3

The Kill leads the BDGL early Friday with his pick of Dwee Johnson after admitting he only spends 3-5 minutes picking his lineup. This is the guy who owns the most victories in the BDGL - owners take note. Big Titties Nitties leadin at the Houston. Norman is the only one to pick Big Titties Nitties and it just may pay off big!

I lead the BB. But I have learned that really doesn’t mean crapola on Friday.

The pressure of being the Sheriff seems to be a bit too much for Joe Wilson as he is currently floundering in the mud - YTD updates show him dropping all the way to 5th. OUCH! Castelein takes over reigns for now, currently 38 up on Kamolz and 43 up on Tim Rogers.

Updated 8:00 am Monday 3/30

Vegas Jenks wins the Bay Hill by only 2 points over a deflated Brown. Jenkins needed his alternate to pull off the victory which shows you how important that selection can be! congrats Jenkins on your 5th BDGL career victory (you have one victory each year).

Jenkins would have had a clean sweep with the BB however Tiger’s putt on the 18th, combined with Jeev’s bogey on the 156th lifted Norman to victory. Yes, we ARE aloud to use Tiger on the BB.

We have a new sheriff in town! Joe Wilson replaces Tim “One Week” Rogers as he falls hard to 5th. Almost like what Randy did last week. This is new territory for Mr Wilson so we will see how he handles the pressure. Will he buckle like Tim? I think so….

I’ll have Sliding, Power and Golfer Counts updated this afternoon.

Have a good week!

Updated 7:25 am Monday 3/23

Castel wins! Pulling away big time from Norman. Norman opened both French doors for Castelein and Tate on the BB as his starters shoot a combined +12 (yes I said 12 over) on Sunday with Crane and Toms both at +5. May just be the biggest buckle in BDGL history for a Sunday leader.

Congrats Castelein on your 6th career victory! 2 last year and 3 prior. I’m jealous.

West’s last place finish this week (has that ever happened) has dropped him all the way to 6th overall. Mr Tim Rogers is our new sheriff in town (has that ever happened) ?? He is leading Castelein by 50, Kamolz by 51 and Joe Wilson by 54. Clear battle for that 2nd spot.

Updated 11:25 am Sunday 3/22

Castelein takes the lead by 1 point over Norman!

Updated 6:59 pm Saturday 3/21

Stormin Norman, after posting a questionable lineup, is surging as Sunday approaches. Apparently Mr. Norman decided to opt out of the Bonus Board this week due to his impatience when entering his lineup stating that it “took too long to post”. Well, that extra minute it takes may just cost him a $50 spot. Ouch.

YTD Update shows Mr West falling hard this week. Barring a miracle, Westy’s streak as our sheriff has ended. Tim Rogers currently leads all with Joe Wilson in 2nd and none other than Iron Mike sitting in 3rd place. He has finished in 3rd the past two years in the BDGL. Iron Mike likes 3rd place.

Updated 11:42 am Friday 3/20

The Great Tate - on fire! he has Stricker and Watney both tied for first.

Updated 11:50 pm Thursday 3/19

Risser’s 9 spot leads all heading into Sunday. Including BB.

Updated 11:50 am Thursday 3/19

Iron Mike takes early lead at Transitions with Miles & Risser battling on the BB.

Updated 9:32 am Thursday 3/19

It’s a new quarter gentlemen! Hope you picked Furyk - he in on fire! Reminds me of a young Scott Siders.

Wild, Wild West

rwCongrats to Mr West for winning the 1st Quarter Ring. For those that are new to the league, Mr West has lead our fine league 29 out of the past 35 weeks. He would have 30 straight if it were not for his boneheaded decision to start Mediate in last years PGA Championship. (see Sliding 2008) That choice enabled Hayward to swoop in and “steeltown”, what I consider, Mr West’s Gleason. West currently is 3rd overall in lifetime BDGL victories with 9 total. He owns 1 Gleason (or should I say 1.5) and 2 rings. He is well on his way to the BDGL Hall of Fame. Nice job Randy. I’ll send you a check when you break $1,000 !!!

Like I have said many times, beware of the Zellman! It came down to Phil and Watney - if Watney won, Mansell would have won. However, Phil pulls through and The Big Z takes his 2nd tourny just this month and 3rd career victory. Nice going Zellman!

West holds on to capture the 2009 1st quarter ring. He won last years 1st quarter as well, joining Martin as the only owner to hold 2 Rings. Congrats Randy - as you add another trophy to your BDGL case. You love the 1st quarter.

Mr Miles, after a gut wrenching tie breaking loss on the bonus board last week, come through big this week taking $70 that comes with it.

Money and Golf Counts to be updated today!

Updated 7:00 pm Saturday 3/14

Mansell is the only one to pick Watney and it just may pay off. He currently is leading all due to the new bonus - but Watney needs to win it for him to get that bonus….. we shall see tomorrow. I am on top on the BB however if my golfers continue their play of today, it won’t be for long. Westy goes into the last day of the 1st quarter with a 23 point lead over Joe Wilson and 58 over Tim Rogers.

Updated 9:28 am Saturday 3/14

wow - I’m still on top…. on both boards too. however Tate, Risser, Martin and Zellman are all within a putt. Baddeley gets DQ’d impacting 6 owners, including Mansell who has Perry in 3rd place as his alt.

Updated 3:53 pm Friday 3/13

Im back on top baby! Can the longest winless streak in BDGL history come to an end this weekend ??? Westy’s Ring shrinks to 20 points…. enjoy the weekend!

Updated 11:43 am Friday 3/13

Beware of the Zellman!! Sweet triple bogey on the 3rd hole Goosen. Just what I wanted.

Updated 9:58 am Friday 3/13

Friday the 13th is here and my lead is no longer. Thank you Wilson for the curse. Fred Miles is leading as his Harrington pick is paying off. I have the BB which is nice. YTD shows Westy back on top by 57 over Joe Wilson. 2nd place apparently did not set well with Mr West.

Updated 3:18 pm Thursday 3/12

Early results at Doral show myself in the lead. Can this finally be the week? The Goosen/Phil combo may just pay off after all. Other news shows Joe Wilson taking the YTD lead and the battle for the 1st Quarter Ring by only 9 over Westy. This is gonna be good!

Honda Classic

Posted by The Commish
March 5th, 2009

Updated 5:00 pm Sunday 3/8

It a Mile’s week as Rick and Fred dominate the Honda. Rick comes out ahead and takes his 3rd victory of his BDGL career, however this is a victory as well for rookie Fred bouncing back from what turned out to be a nightmare start to the season. Nice going to both of you. Rick, it looks like make or break with you!

WOW…….Bonus Board - after a three way tie had to be broken via alternate - the BB goes to Vegas Jenks for the 2nd time this year! Yes it’s true - I think I jinxed Grott (see note below) he actually did choke after being the only to have all four make the cut. OUCH!! Rick Miles had a chance at sweeping both boards however his alternate in Rose cost him. As well did Grott with Villegas. Turned out Jenkins’ alternate in Calc won the show.

YTD results still are in the hands of Mr West who continues to lead our league for the 6th straight week. But you need 7 in a row to get a Ring. and he has Joe Wilson breathing HEAVY down his neck only 14 back! Tim Rogers is only 27 so this is anybody’s game! Can West relive his nightmare of 2008? Or capture his 2nd First Quarter Ring in a row? oh the drama…..

Ill do my best to have golfer counts updated this week. But until then, just make sure you go through each tourny to verify. I don’t see any owner using 4 of anybody yet, so Im ok. also will have money updates posted after 1st quarter is up. This includes Bonus Board updates.

Good luck everybody as the 1st quarter comes to a close!

Updated 7:47 pm Saturday 3/7

Rick Miles back on top after Saturday’s round with the Kill close behind. Grott takes control of the BB as the only to have all four make the cut. If he blows this one, wow. That will hurt. Westy still holding strong in first place with YTD stats updated. Joe Wilson in 2nd overall.

Updated 1:06 pm Friday 3/6

The Wil leads late Friday! Grott takes control of the BB.

Updated 9:27 am Friday 3/6

Rick Miles looking good with the Kill close behind! Grott & Tate battle on the BB early Friday. West continues to hold his YTD/1st Quarter lead with the Castel moving to 2nd overall.

Updated 1:15 pm Thursday 3/5

Jeff Horen turns in no names and look what happens. Meanwhile, Stormin Normin leading the BB.

Updated 11:55 am Thursday 3/5

I lead early on both - but that’s what you get when you pick guys that tee off late.

Updated 10:46 am Thursday 3/5

Game on! Wilson and Houston hurting as Mediate and Pettersson are blowing up. At least you did not take Gronberg - holy moly! 19 over after 14?? That’s what my card looks like. Also, who the hell is this McIlroy guy?? Must have been an article on him.

Updated 7:48 PM Sunday 3/1

Beware of the Zellman! Being the only one to take Mark Wilson leaves Zellman as the only one to post in the negative this year! Congrats Zellman on your 2nd lifetime BDGL victory.

Other news shows Vegas Janks taking the Bonus Board and the $60 that goes with it - nice going Jenkins!

Lastly, Mr West continues to lead all. However, Joe Wilson is slowly catching him. The battle for the 1st Quarter Ring will be close. Will Westy lose it on the last week? For his sake, I hope not.

oh, and the Tally, Sliding and Power Ranking are updated!

Updated 1:49 PM Sunday 3/1

Zellman looking to cash in big as Mark Wilson continues to lead the Mayakoba. There is a 50 point bonus on the line if he holds due to Zellman being the only one who took Mark Wilson. Jenkins coasting to a victory on the BB. Sliding and Power Ranking are updated! Finally!

Updated 3:15 PM Saturday 2/28

Zellman leading by only a few over Houston. Jenkins still holds BB.

Updated 2:05 PM Friday 2/27

From 1st to 19th. This stupid ass game can kiss my ass.

Updated 10:05 PM Friday 2/27

Buckle Friday is here! The Zellman, who was the only owner to take Mark Wilson, is currently leading by6 over Tate, with Houston, Siders & Hayward close behind. Hayward & Miles get lucky with Dick Johnson withdrawing, leaving the door open for their alternate. BB still belongs to Tate.

Updated 5:32 PM Thursday 2/26

The Great Tate is tied with yours truly heading into Friday’s round. A position I am not familiar with. Will I buckle as usual? We will see. BB belongs to Tate as well!

and did anybody catch that 10 Gamez posted today on that par 4? Jeff not happy bout that.

Updated 12:32 PM Thursday 2/26

Early Thursday results show Houston leading with sweet 69 while Kelly is only 4 back. BB is popular again this week as Siders and Tate are tied early.

Popular picks this week include Toms, Na, Gay and Merrick. All of which I do not have. Which should tell me something.

Mayakoba is here. This is where it begins to get interesting….

Golfer counts will be updated AFTER the Mayakoba.

Bonus Board goes to Grott, who need Phil to win to barely edge out Tate for the $70 in prize money. Nice going Grott!

YTD update show West continuing to lead over Tim Rogers.

Updated 11:00 AM Monday

Play canceled! Iron Mike Kamolz wins! Due to rain, Monday’s round has been canceled, therefor Kamolz takes his 6th lifetime victory. Congrats Mike! You are lock every year to get at least one victory. I wish I could say the same. Bonus Board cash goes to Risser after he sneaks in from behind and steals my money.

YTD shows West keeping 1st place. No surprise as he is slowly becoming “Mr 1P”. Tim Rogers only 46 behind.

Updated 2:39 PM Sunday

Iron Mike Kamolz, Mr 3P, is leading Pebble after Saturday with Castelein, West and Tim Rogers close behind. Rain delay leaves a nice Monday of golf to enjoy. Risser takes over the Bonus Board as Love struggles and Weir advances up the leaderboard. Commish not happy about this latest development.

Updated 5:21 PM Friday

Rogers still on top but West closes in only down by 3 points. Which means West is back on top in the YTD stats. He responded to my question below it seems. It’s a 3 day cut so good luck tomorrow!

Updated 2:45 PM Friday

Tim Rogers, Again ?? Rogers leads heading into the close of Friday. Can he repeat? Him and Tate are the only with all four in. Siders continues to lead the BB which again makes him happy.
YTD update shows Rogers taking over first place. Will West let that happen?

The Great Tate continues to lead all.

Updated 9:33 AM Friday

Tate leading early Friday with 6 tied for 2nd only 15 points behind. Siders continues to lead BB as the only to have all four in. I like that.

Buick Invitational - It’s Back!

Posted by The Commish
February 5th, 2009

Updated 12:21 PM Monday

Tim Rogers earns his 2nd BDGL victory! This was a close one gentlemen as two of our rookies had a very solid showing. However, Tim’s ability to place four of his golfers in the top 20 buried the rest. Congrats Tim!

The Kill comes up just short of his 14th career and league leading victory. It’s only a matter of time.

and look who maintains his Sheriff responsibilities - Mr West. He lead for 22 straight weeks last year, so it’s nothing new to him.

Pick of the week: McMillan with Watney. The only guy to take him. Which earns him a bonus of 50 points! See rule 4.A.2009. Congrats McMillan!

Also, congrats to Risser for winning the Bonus Board, and the $20 that will go with that. His BB lineup would have earned him 5th place vs that 24th he placed this week. Hmmm.

Updated 9:14 PM Saturday

8 Owners, including 2 rookies, are within 36 points of each other heading into Sunday. This should be a good one!

Updated 2:27 PM Saturday

Tim Rogers back on top!

Updated 12:03 PM Saturday

It’s a dog fight as at least 8 owners are in it with Rookie Pinson leading the way. Watch out for the Kill. and YTD Results are updated!

Updated 2:09 PM Friday

Tim Rogers on top! Late confirmation to enter league is leading to a solid start at the Buick. Oberholser dropping out is helping out Joe Wilson as he takes Villegas with his alternate. Note to rookies: this shows the importance of that alternate pick!

Updated 11:22 AM Friday

Wilson continuing to lead as Fridays round is under way.

Updated 8:15 PM Thursday

Wilson leading the way with two rookies close behind heading into Friday! No word from Hayward as his lineup is suffering.

Updated 12:06 PM Thursday

Rookie Pinson leading early!

Updated 10:36 AM Thursday

We haven’t seen the Buick Invitational since 2004. The PGA mixed up their schedule this year - which I will have posted today! And Fred Miles, one of our rookies, posted 5 guys that are not in the lineup. Ahhh, I remember my first year…..

Also - the $10 Bonus Board is back and updated. You can view at the bottom of the weekly scoring page. I apologize to those that were unable to participate this week and last week. For those that are not sure what the $10 Bonus Board is, well, allow me to explain: In addition to your weekly lineup, you may submit a side lineup for an extra $10, which will be placed on a separate board. All those that submit a lineup for the Bonus Board will compete against each other. The winner of the Bonus Board collects the purse for that week, which will depend on the number of participants, obviously. Your score on the Bonus Board HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH the BDGL Season scores. Good luck - and hope to see you on the Board next week. (There will be a separate form to submit your lineup for the Bonus Board)

Nice going Slick - especially after last year. and to top it off, his beloved Steelers won their 6th title. Rocco is from Pittsburg. A nice weekend to say the least for Mr West.

Also- Im bringin back the Commish’s pick of the week - for one due to my gem of a pick and also by popular demand (Hayward asked me to)
