Long again? He is looking to make it back to back after stealing the Canadian from Nacho last week, is leading at the Greensboro! Our Sheriff Big V, who was down with two cut yesterday, bounces back today and is currently 2nd overall this week. It’s definitely looking like the Big V’s year.

and obviously I missed the Overton bus this week.

Castelein, looking for his 1st of the year, (as 13 of us are), is leading at the new Greensboro!

CORRECTION!! I hate to do this but I have to take back Nacho’s victory. It turns out Mr Long was the only guy to pick Pettersson this week, and he gets a 50 pt bonus for that feat. Which will put him 3 points ahead of Nacho – and thus give Long the win. Sorry Notch. Hope you understand. Ill have updates later.

Updated 8:03pm 7/26

The Notch takes home his first ever BDGL victory at the Canadian Open. Congrats Nacho – this victory moved you up one spot overall from 19th to 18th. Hope this gets you motivated to ride the rest of the season out strong!

Other news shows Vernezze still coasting away - with only 2 tournys and 1 major left to go. Can he hold on – Vegas odds say yes he will. Here are the latest odds for some owners:

Big V- 2:1
R Miles- 5:1
D Wilson- 4:1
Norman- 10:1
Grott-15:1
Houston-15:1 (who needs to stop the bleeding)
Brown-15:1
Hayward- 250:1

4th Quarter update also has the Big V leading, by 249 over Grott and 273 over Vegas Jenks.

New BDGL Tourny this week in the Greensboro Classic. Who will be the inaugural winner??

One last thing – the Bonanza cost has moved to $65. Please let me know if you are going to be there so I can arrange 4-somes!

Updated 7:56pm 7/24

The Notch still on top going into Sunday at the Canadian Open. The rookie is looking to add his 1st ever BDGL title to his trophy case! Can he hold under the pressure? Cameron the Canadian making a nice showing in his native land! He could pull off a victory if a couple tiles fall in place (Immelman buckles).

Updated 6:10pm 7/23

Is that The Notch on top after Friday at the Canadian Open?? I believe it is! Tied with The Zellman. Home town hero C-Squared making a run currently in 3rd, but with Nacho being one of only two with nobody cut, it will be tough.

Updated 1:36pm 7/22

Big Z on top at the Open!

Updated 8:00am 7/22

Last year’s Canadian Open came down to who finished higher in the British open as 4 owners ended up tied, with two having the same alternate! Tate squeezed that one out, can he do it again or will C-Squared, aka the Canadian Sensation, pull off a victory in his homeland? We shall see!

Pinson’s Open

Posted by

Updated 10:40pm 7/18

A funny thing happened while I was in Vegas this weekend- Pinson won a tournament! and a Major at that!! Holy crapola I had to check the scores 3 times but it’s true. The P-Dog takes his 1st BDGL victory! I mean seriously, this guy has placed 20th or higher 35% of the tournaments he has played (yes I keep track). More stats? How about the chances of P-Dog finishing in the top 3? Can you say 6%. Yes 6 out of 100 times Pinson will finish in the top 3. That’s a bad bet right there my friends. So if you had money on the dog this week, wow – congrats to you! You made like 200-1 I’m sure. Nice going Pinson! on your first ever BDGL victory. You are now on the board! and hope those stats didn’t bum you out.

Hayward and West, on the other hand, have 3 Gleasons, 2 rings and 19 tournament victories between them but what’s missing? I’ll let you figure that one out.

Look who’s back as our sheriff. Big-V! His relentless pursuit to gain back the top spot has paid off. Although he may be a little bummed that he came only 2 spots short of turning in the first ever BDGL hatrek (he placed 3rd this week after winning the past two tournys), he still is on cruise control down the BDGL Highway and didn’t even slow down to assist a helpless Miles who had a blow out this week combined with transmission problems. The Big-V is also leading the 4th quarter, but by only 154 over Grott with Vegas Jenks in 3rd.

Updated 2:46pm 7/15

Big V on fire!! Leading all at the British Open. Can he be the first one in BDGL history to win 3 in a row?? Oh my!

Vernezze, Again

Posted by

Updated 3:46pm 7/11

This rookie is on fire as he takes his 2nd win in a row at the John Deere Classic! We havn’t seen the likes of these skills since Rookie Martin blazed through our league in ‘07. The Big V is trying to pin down that ever loved Rookie of the Year trophy and, although The C-Squared has had a fine year, the Big V is definitely pulling away in that contest. Nacho no where to be found. Nice going Vernezze!

This win gets you even closer to a sweating Miles. You are now only 65 points out, and with a major up too! ANYTHING can happen.

Vernezze also leading the 4th quarter, but only by 25 over a determined Houston, who happened to break into the top 3 for the 1st time this year, but also happened to lose at golf today to me, after I pulled the miracle “Weed Shot” out of my bag.

Other news shows Miles losing his grip on the Power Score, as his 21st place finish, combined with The Big V’s 1st place finish causes him to fall one point short! Houston in 3rd, back 44 pts and then none other than Fred Miles sitting 4th in the Power Scoring?? I had to recheck that but it’s true. Freddy showin some solid scores! I may have to check his golfer count…..

and I realize the post feature on this site is down – trying to figure out why. stay tuned.

Good luck this week! I would love me a British title!!!!!!!!

Updated 6:41pm 7/10

Look who hasn’t left town, the Big V, again back on top going into Sunday! Feel like a broken record here but it’s true. Vernezze is tied with Brown and owns the tiebreaker. He will record his 2nd victory in two weeks if it holds up at the John Deere Classic! Although Vernezze and Brown have the same lineup, Brown’s alt has missed the cut. Big V’s has not. He won last week in a tiebreaker over Vegas Jenks. Can he do it again over Brown? That will be a BDGL first!

Updated 5:15pm 7/9

C-Squared still leading with a determined Houston right behind at the John Deere Classic. Brown and Big V tied for 3rd only 15 back. Our Sheriff, Rick Miles, hits hard times this week with 2 cut – his YTD lead dwindled to only 66 over Big V. I know that feeling and it sucks!!

Updated 8:15pm 7/8

NEVER assume a player is in the field. I have sacrificed myself this week to prove this lesson to you all. My favorite tourny too. In other words, I’m an idiot.

C-Squared, aka The Canadian Sensation, is leading the John Deere Classic! and this, even after Pinson is forced to use his alternate, who is none other than Mr 59 himself, Paul Goydos!!

Updated 8:31am 7/8

My personal favorite tourny of the BDGL, the John Deere Classic. Maybe because it’s named after a mower. Without mowers we wouldn’t have golf courses.

Can the Zellman repeat his John Deere and make it two in a row? Good luck everybody!

AT&T National

ALL UPDATED!!

Updated 3:31pm 7/4

Big V takes the AT&T in a tiebreaker over Vegas Jenks! It came down to the alternates this week with Vernezze having O’hair and Jenks having Fowler (who missed the cut)- so it wasn’t even close, in regards to tiebreaker guys. But Crane ultimately cost Jenkins. If he wouldn’t have doubled 17 today Jenks would be celebrating. That’s a tough double to swallow. So congrats Big V on finally breaking through after so many close calls this year. This is your first of, Im sure, many more BDGL victories to come. Who would of figured you’d have a ring before your first victory, but you pulled it off. Again, congrats!

I’ll have the rest of the stuff updated by nights end!

Updated 1:31pm 7/3

Big V back in control midway through Saturday at the AT&T.

Updated 9:21am 7/3

There is a battle brewing at the AT&T this weekend as 8 owners have all four in! Kamolz & Vegas Jenks leading the way!

Updated 3:24pm 7/2

Updated 7:01pm 7/1

Big V, right where he wants to be, at the AT&T!

Updated 7:46am 7/1

We are off! 4th Quarter begins now at the AT&T National. Good luck everybody!

Updated 7:05pm 6/28

Can the Champ Joe Wilson repeat his AT&T National title from a year ago?

Golfer Counts are updated. It seems some owners failed to check counts prior to US Open. So I had to make some adjustments to that score. The golfer counts were up to date the Monday prior to US Open starting so it’s your own fault for not checking.

Rick the Traveler

Updated 3:31pm 6/27

Rick Miles again! This time at the Travelers. Yes, it is true – the leader of the Quarter going in, the leader of the YTD and the leader of the Power Score – well, he came in first this week. So if you were hoping to catch some ground this week, think again as Mr. Miles lays down the hammer. And this after his dad was leading going into today. Good thing it wasn’t Fathers Day. Congrats Rick on your first ring, your 3rd win this season (to match Risser for league high) and your 6th lifetime BDGL victory, only 4 away from color. Impressive!

Special Note – this is the 2nd year in a row that the winner of the US Open went on to win the Travelers. Did we discover a trend?

I can’t believe it is already 4th quarter. This quarter is going to be nuts – especially with two majors in it. I’d say if you are within 1000 points you are still in it!! I want to personally apologize for the late updates this past quarter(s). You all know (except the rookies) that this is not like me. I am looking forward to redeeming myself this quarter. So nobody will give me shit at the Bonanza.

Speaking of Bonanza – we are looking good for another great weekend. Tee times are reserved and spots are being filled. Get yours now!

Hope all had a good weekend.

Updated 9:44am 6/26

Fred Miles in a tight on so far at the Travelers.

Updated 9:38am 6/24

The Kill out early at the Travelers. He has a Travelers championship under his belt from way back in 2004. Can he add another 6 years later? We shall see.

Rick Miles has all but put the ribbon on his new Ring. I complete collapse would be needed to prevent him from winning this. Is it possible?

BDGL Bonanza – Tee Times Reserved!

Posted by
June 21st, 2010

I reserved 12 foursomes at Oak Creek Country Club on August 21st with the 1st teeing off at 11:10. $75 per player includes golf, prize money for closest to pin, longest drive, raffle and the scramble itself. And a nice spread at Bill Zieman’s Player’s Bar and Grill in Cottonwood after golf. Oh – and we have a sponsor this year too so there may be some prizes if not a complimentary BDGL shirt! Now that is worth the trip alone.

Good times by all so make sure you mark your calendars and reserve your spot now!!

US Open by a Mile

Rick Miles takes his first major at the US Open after leading from start to finish. Congrats Rick! That’s your 2nd of the season!

Speaking of Rick – he has had one hell of a quarter so far. With only 1 week left for the 3rd quarter he is 258 better than Tate and 357 over 3rd place Houston. Every week except one he has placed in the top five and that one where he didn’t he finished 8th! His Power Score is by far the best in the league, 25 points better than the next guy, Vernezze. His performance after this weekend has also landed Mr Miles in 1st place overall, 316 better than a deflated Vernezze (who suffered a gut wrenching major after having all 6 make the cut only to finish 20th overall). Another heart breaking performance goes out to our other Rookie C-Squared. 3 cut and 846 points is not what you want after studying so hard. I know the feeling Cal – hang in there!!

Our Anchorman continues to by Hayward even after a solid 3rd place showing at the US Open, by far his best performance at a major. Hayward, still considered to be the best BDGL owner without a major, may be the only owner in history to win 2 Gleasons and an Anchor. Impressive.

The Great Tate takes the Miles Major . His pick of McDowell lead the way. Rounding out the top 3 are Fred and Rick Miles. 4th place finish, where you just don’t want to finish, goes to Zellman.

Money is updated.

Travelers up this week. Can I repeat?

Updated 2:40pm 6/20

Rick Miles still in control but Houston lurking at the US Open.

Fred Miles in control of the Miles Major – as I finally updated the scores. Sorry guys.

St Jude Classic

Updated 10:05 6/13

Stormin Norman wins in a close one over Rookie C-Squared at the St Jude! This is Norman’s 2nd victory of the year after taking the Players last month. Also makes it his 8th lifetime and puts him in the top 5 overall, only 345 back. With a major this week, that is striking distance!

Rookie Big V continues to lead all, only 100 over Miles (who moved to 2nd) and 186 over Wilson who has another bad week.

3rd Quarter update shows Rick Miles leading Tate by 85 and Houston by 160. 3rd Quarter Champion Siders in 4th place only 183 back.

We have the US Open this week! Can I repeat my title? YES!

Updated 9:22pm 6/11

Siders still leading at St Jude!

Updated 11:12pm 6/10

I am on fire at the St Jude! Count on updates all day long tomorrow!!

McMillan’s Memorial

Posted by
June 2nd, 2010

Updated 9:47pm 6/7

McMillan takes the Memorial. He was the only one to take Rose. With the bonus he easily ran away with his 2nd victory of the year. Nice going McMillan! This win also moved him up 2 spots from 19th to 17th! But let’s all be honest here – the real news of the week is Zieman coming in 2nd place – that’s his highest placing in YEARS.

We have a new sheriff back in town – The Big V and Wilson seem to be sharing the top spot lately and now it’s the rookie’s turn. He leads Wilson by 46 and 103 over Rick Miles.

Rick Miles takes over the Quarter lead by 68 over Tate and 90 over McMillan.

Golfer counts will not be updated so be sure to account for your Memorial selections when picking your St Jude lineups!

Updated 3:54pm 6/5

Rick Miles takes the lead at the Memorial Championship. It’s a tight race gentlemen!

Updated 8:43am 6/4

Zellman on top early Friday looking to repeat his title at the Memorial Championship!

Updated 8:33am 6/2

Can the Zellman repeate his Memorial Championship?

Golfer Counts will be updated by 4:00 today. If you choose to turn in a line up prior to that, take note of the last update and be sure to include the tournys that are not included in your counts! Otherwise, wait until around 4:00 az time.

Thank you.
